Azerbaijan Chemical Society organized stimulating seminar at the Azerbaijan Oil and Industry University on the 10th April. Co-founder of Azerbaijan Chemical Society Orkhan Hajiyev talked about our society – who we are, what we do, our partners and how you can join us. Then Production Chemistry Engineer at BP Company Kenan Taghiyev presented his topic on the Production Chemistry in Environmental Management and Monitoring. His topic covered Environmental Pollutions associated with oilfield chemistry, oilfield emulsions – definition, problems, mechanisms, emulsion control methods, monitoring methods and chemical discharge. At the end Niek Hulzink – Nalco Champion District Tecnical Manager shared his professional experiences with students. The main purpose of the seminar is promote chemical sciences to the students of the local universities. Participants of the seminar were mainly third year students of chemical technology department at the Azerbaijan Oil and Industry University. Students were very actively participated at seminar by asking interesting questions about topic. Such seminars will be held continuously at the same university and at the other local universities.
