Azerbaijan Chemical Society team organized a field trip to the “Azpetrol terminal central Laboratory” of the Intertek company on 2nd of May 2018.
After greeting of project Manager of the Intertek Nino Mirling, participants have been informed about general hazards in Laboratory and plants and primary briefing was held by company QHSE for emergency situations. Then, participants have been informed about the role of the company in Azerbaijan, their work strategy, international standards which are using by laboratories.
The event was continued with theoretical training about types of samples, sampling methods, hazards during sampling, risk assessment of sampling, control methods of hazards and disposal of samples. After theoretical part participants attended to the practical training about collection of samples with closed loop method. Before lunch another theoretical training about “Gas Chromatography” was held.
Intertek, organized delicious lunch for participants. They had a chance to eat with company employees. After lunch, participants have had cut a special cake with trainers. Then, another practical training about gas chromatography organized for participants and they had a chance to use modern equipment such as ICP.
Participants had been visited to the oil, water and corrosion laboratories and get basic knowledge about analysis and standards there.
In the end, the company’s director Elkhan Hajiyev met with event participants and thanked them for their attention and interest. He specially noticed thanks to AzeCS team for organizing such a events and wish luck to everyone.
